The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in the Cub Scout program and is typically earned by children in the fifth grade (or who are 10 years old). In a typical Arrow of Light Den, children will work on earning their Arrow of Light rank and preparing to transition to the Boy Scout program. The children will participate in a variety of activities designed to help them develop character, learn new skills, and have fun.
Some of the adventures that Arrow of Light Scouts might work on include:
"Building a Better World": This adventure helps the children learn about citizenship and service. The children will explore different ways they can make a positive impact in their community and will participate in a service project to give back.
"Duty to God and You": This adventure helps the children learn about spiritual growth and faith. The children will explore their own beliefs and values, and will learn about different ways to connect with a higher power.
"Scout's Own": This adventure helps the children learn about the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and will give them an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of these principles.
In addition to working on these adventures, Arrow of Light Scouts will also participate in den meetings and larger pack meetings, and may go on field trips and outings to learn about the world around them. The den leader will work with the children to plan and carry out these activities, and will help them track their progress and complete the requirements for earning their Arrow of Light rank.
